Holding over 2500 pieces of historical and contemporary musical instruments from all over the world, the Stearns Collection of Musical Instruments is one of the largest accumulations of such artifacts housed in a North American university.
Perhaps the most important type of instrument in Western music has been the keyboard. Early examples go back to the Middle Ages and innovations are still being made to this -Day. The Stearns Collection is fortunate to have examples spanning the past 400 years. Take a virtual tour through the Collection to see a sampling of these instruments.
