A nice virtual drumkit on Ken’s page.
In 1787, Mozart wrote the measures and instructions for a musical composition dice game. The idea is to cut and paste pre-written measures of music together to create a Minuet.
This site is an implementation of such a game. The music and table of rules for this game appear to have been published anonymously in 1787, and interestingly, the table of rules for this Minuet is identical to Mozart’s. However, it is not clear who the composer of these measures is.
There are 176 possible Minuet measures and 96 possible Trio measures to choose from. The result of a dice roll is looked up in a table of rules to determine which measure to play.
Two six-sided dice are used to determine each of the 16 Minuet measures (i.e. 11 possibilities for each of 16 measures). One six-sided die is used to determine each of the 16 Trio measures (i.e. 6 possibilities for each of 16 measures). So in theory, there are (11^16) * (6^16) = (1.3 * (10^29)) possible compositions. Of course, many of them will be closely related. Nevertheless, there are still many interesting possibilities.

A Common Sense approach to uncovering the
"Truth" about what we hear
So lets talk about studio monitors. A thorny subject to be sure, with as many opinions as is believable. As with microphones and sequencers, the debate often turns into flame-fests. Yet there has been some progress in our understanding of monitors. Nearly everyone seems to agree that one needs a "near field" monitor to accurately assess the music they are creating. A near field monitor is one that you keep pretty close to you, typically between 3-5 feet. The idea here is that the music we hear is dramatically altered by room acoustics. Go try a little experiment. Take any speaker and put it in the corner of a room. You will hear bass resonating through the room that does not exist when the speaker is in the middle of the room. LMMS aims to be a free alternative to popular (but commercial and closed- source) programs like FruityLoops, Cubase and Logic giving you the ability of producing music with your computer by creating cool loops, synthesizing and mixing sounds, arranging samples, having more fun with your MIDI-keyboard and much more…
LMMS combines the features of a tracker-/sequencer-program (pattern-/channel-/ sample-/song-/effect-management) and those of powerful synthesizers and samplers in a modern, user-friendly and easy to use graphical user-interface.
What can I do with LMMS?
Using LMMS you can produce electronic music with your computer, so you don’t have to buy expensive hardware for having great sounds and making cool music. Of course no software can replace real hardware-synths, but you’ll have still much fun with LMMS and especially users being new to music-production at all will learn things in a really easy way!
LMMS provides software-synths and other plugins, cool presets for them and also some essential samples. For getting started with LMMS you can take a look at the demo-projects.

Before you start to seriously learn to play the harmonica, pick up your harmonica and just fool around a bit. Run your mouth up and down the harmonica blowing and drawing (sucking in) air and listen to the sounds. Even though you’re not playing music you’ll notice you do get notes…Mostly multiple notes…but notes none the less. Start at one end and blow all notes up and down, then repeat by drawing all notes. You should notice right off that you play multiple notes on each breath. You’ll also notice some holes play easily…other holes don’t. You may run out of air on blow notes and get too much air in your lungs on draw notes. Remember all these things…they’ll come up again. ( read more )
